The ACC Reaches A New Billion Dollar TV Deal With ESPN

The Atlantic Coast Conference has reached a new TV billion-dollar rights deal with ESPN, according to the Triangle Business Journal.

The Journal reported on its website on Monday morning that ESPN outbid Fox Sports to secure TV rights for ACC men’s basketball and football. Citing “industry sources,” the Journal reported the ACC’s pending deal with ESPN is worth approximately $1.86 billion over 12 years.

If the deal goes through, the ACC would receive $155 million annually – more than twice the $67 million the league receives annually from its current TV contracts with ESPN, Fox Sports and Raycom Sports. The new contract with ESPN would go into effect after the ACC’s current TV aggreements end in 2011.
