Titans CB Courtland Finnegan Fined $5,000

The NFL has fined Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan $5,000 for tackling 49ers running back Frank Gore by the facemask last Sunday.

Finnegan was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play.

This week Finnegan will get to work against Bills receiver Terrell Owens, who missed two days of practice this week because of a hip injury but declared himself ready to play.

Finnegan worked against Owens in the Hall of Fame game to open the preseason.

“He is a big strong guy who can go up and get the ball,’’ Finnegan said. “He is an elite receiver, but you can’t forget about Lee Evans. He is overshadowed (by Owens) but he is the real deal himself.’’
