Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher Regrets Releasing RB LeGarrette Blount

According to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider, Titans head coach Jeff Fisher wants a big back to complement star Chris Johnson that the Titans held a tryout for former Chiefs and Redskins running back Larry Johnson on Tuesday.  About Johnson, Fisher said, ““He’s on our ready list. He had a great workout. He’s in good shape. It was good to see him run. I think he can still play,”

Fisher knows, however, in his heart-of-hearts, that he already had the perfect back on his roster and let him get away. Fisher says now he regrets the gamble of putting rookie running back LeGarrette Blount on waivers just before the start of the season.   I thought we could get him to the practice squad, get him on practice squad, knowing that when and if there was any kind of interest, we could bring him back to the active roster. That didn’t happen, but I’m very, very happy for him.”

Blount was claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and now has 359 yards rushing with four touchdowns on 75 carries this year.
