Titans WR Kenny Britt Denies Involvement In Bar Fight
Jim Wyatt of the reports the police investigation into last week’s bar brawl allegedly involving Titans receiver Kenny Britt will continue into next week, which means the second-year pro should be available for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
On Thursday, Britt defended himself against allegations that he punched a man during a fight at Karma Lounge early last Friday morning, two days before his breakout performance against the Eagles.
“Am I saying I was falsely accused? I believe so. You can’t believe everything the newspaper says,” said Britt, who has retained attorney Roger May. “There was definitely a fight in the bar, but I wasn’t involved in it.”
Pointer told The Tennessean last week that Britt punched him in the face and he needed four stitches above his left eye. Pointer said he was initially sucker-punched by Miser.
“I don’t even know him,” Britt said of Pointer. “I don’t even know what the boy looks like. Was I involved in it? Not at all.
“I was at the club. I was definitely out on the town. I am 22 years old, I am going to go out and I am going to try and have some fun and I am going to try and live like a 22-year-old and not try and be an old man.”
Asked why Pointer would accuse him, Britt said he’s not sure. Pointer said Britt and his friends mistook him for being with a group that was involved in an earlier fight.
“We probably had some words throughout the time we were there and probably the person that did touch him was probably with me and he probably thought so and he is falsely accusing me,” Britt said. “And that’s what happens throughout my life.”
