Top Three Landing Spots For RB Larry Johnson

As announced earlier today, The Kansas City Chiefs release Larry Johnson and leave their former star running back looking for work elsewhere, so I’ve taken the liberty of finding five teams that could use Johnson in their offense. Remember guys, these teams are based off of a few things, whether money is more important to Johnson than winning, team needs and salary cap room. Here we go:

1. Cleveland Browns:
With the recent announcement of the retirement of Jamal Lewis and the lack of star power at the running back position, I believe the Browns are a leading candidate for Johnson’s services.
The Browns are one the worst rushing offenses in the league this season and have lacked a serious running game since re-entering the league in 1999.
Johnson and Browns backup running back Jerome Harrison would be a nice combination in the Browns backfield and could give them a bonafide offensive weapon to help with their rebuilding phase.

2. San Diego Chargers:
The Chargers don’t really need Johnson but they sure could use him as another weapon on offense. Johnson could very well be the excuse they need to release or trade declining Chargers franchise running back LaDainian Tomlinson.
The release of talented running backs Michael Turner, Gartrell Johnson and them passing on drafting now Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno proved to me that they were comfortable with Tomlinson and second-string running back Darren Sproles them being the one-two punch they need in the backfield, but Tomlinson has declined and Sproles is not an every down back, they could use a guy like Johnson.
The Chargers are also a division rival and I’m pretty sure Larry Johnson would wanna stick it to his old team within the division, i.e. Brett Favre.
The only issue here is money. The Chargers have sunk alot of money to their team on both sides of the ball and they would have to find a way to pay Johnson for his services or convince Johnson that if he wanted to win, he would have to take a pay cut.

3. Seattle Seahawks:
The Seahawks have struggled to find a running game since they released record-setting running back Shaun Alexander in 2007. The Seahawks have since brought in Maurice Morris, who was a second round draft pick of theirs in 2002 but has since left for the Detroit Lions, Julius Jones from the Dallas Cowboys, T.J. Duckett from the Atlanta Falcons and Edgerrin James from the Arizona Cardinals and none of them have seemed to work out.
So I believe if quarterback Matt Hasselbeck can get healthy, get a nice rhythm going with newly acquired wide receiver T.J. Houshmanzadeh, Johnson would be a nice 0ne-two punch with Julius Jones on offense.
Honorable Mention:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders
Where do you think Larry Johnson should go?

The Browns are so terrible it's almost sad to mention them as a possible suitor for LJ but he will be needed since Jamal Lewis up and "retired" mid season. I dislike him for that move but they need him thought LJ would be their only player.
I think LJ in San Diego is the best fit. Attack of the 6-4 or taller offense. Those dudes would be one intimidating unit with psycho Rivers running the show.
Love the honorable mention reference.
