Unranked Iowa Upsets #3 Penn State Nittany Lions
Another undefeated goes down as the unranked Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the #3 Penn State Nittany Lions 24-23 in Iowa City Saturday night. The Hawkeyes played Penn State extremely tough through the whole game and it finally came to a head when Penn State quarterback Daryll Clark threw an interception to freshman defensive back Tyler Sash late in the fourth quarter. A 15-yard pass interference call, the passing of Hawkeyes quarterback Ricky Stanzi and the running of Shonn Greene got Iowa in field goal range. Iowa sophomore kicker Daniel Murray hit a 31-yard field goal to beat the Nittany Lions by one point. This officially breaks up the BCS and kills Penn State and Joe Paterno’s opportunity to play for a BCS Championship. SORRY JOE PA!!!
