Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his 4-TD afternoon at Green Bay on Sunday. The game marked Favre’s 21st career 4-TD game, matching Dan Marino for the NFL record.

His 128.6 passer rating against the Packers is the 5th game in 2009 he has posted a 100+ passer rating. In 2 games against his former team in 2009, Favre has passed for 515 yards and 7 TDs without an INT, going 41-of-59 (69.5%) with a 135.9 passer ratin, earning Player of the Week honors for both contests.

The honor is the 15th time in Favre’s career he has been named either NFC or AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He was NFC Offensive Player of the Week 11 times as a Packer, earned the AFC award 2 times in 2008 with the Jets and 2 times as a Viking.

Favre is the 11th Vikings player since 2006 to earn an NFC Player of the Week award.
