On Monday afternoon, the first overall pick of the 2011 WNBA Draft went to the Minnesota Lynx and they selected former Collins Hill High School grad and UConn star forward Maya Moore.
Moore had a tremendous four-year career with the Huskies scoring a school- and Big East-record 3,036 points in her career, winning an NCAA Division I record 150 games to only four losses. Included in that stretch was an NCAA-record, 90-game winning streak.
Moore averaged 22.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals as a UConn senior, while shooting high percentages from the field (52.4), on 3-pointers (38.4) and on free throws (84.3).
